Tree of Life Exhibition - Nov 2011
"Beautiful, touching, inspiring, heart-warming, calming..."
"A very special exhibition….a room full of stories & lives."
"I depart uplifted."
After months of preparation and two days setting up, Mind the Gap’s 2011 project Tree of Life finally came together in a fabulous installation in the Cleary Gallery, Canterbury . The Lord Mayor of Canterbury came to the opening event on October 18th, which was attended by so many people it was sometimes difficult to see the wood for the trees!
Canterbury Umbrella, Whitstable Parasol, Eco-Mind Folkestone, Sevenoaks Mind and Trevor Gibbens Unit from Maidstone were among the groups who managed to negotiate the steep steps up to the gallery.
Over 400 leaves were displayed on willow withies , or hanging from the rafters, accompanied by recorded birdsong which filled the space and added a relaxing vibe to the experience.
